Manipulating Stk2000 data files

Getting the files

Renameing the files

Using the files

Download BRIS single file format data files. Any data file that follows the BRIS format will work including the TSN files.

Downloaded files are usually compressed so that they download faster. Use WinZip  to extract data files from the compressed download files. You may download to any folder but make sure you extract the data files to your Stk2000 folder.

WinZip is a little confusing the first few times you use it so you have to pay attention to the exteract location and make sure it is set to extract to Stk2000.

Use the helper file DRFSTK.BAT to automatically unzip and rename BRIS data files.

Use the helper file EGSTK.BAT to automatically unzip and rename TSN data files.

You can use Windows Explorer to rename the data file so that it has a .STK file extension. Example: the BRIS file will unzip with a .DRF file extension and the TSN file will unzip with .EG file extension like this.

CDX0512.DRF and CDX0512.EG

Rename them to:

CDX0512.STK

There is a helpers script that will do all of this with a single click. See Below.

You can edit and change any of the scripts that show up in the Helpers list by clicking File > Edit and select the script to edit from the dialog box that will appear.

Once you have downloaded and renamed the files so that they have a .STK file extension they are ready for handicapping.

Click the Racing Form menu item in the Stk2000 menu bar. Then click File > Open and click on the file name of the data file you what to use. You have three handicapping options.

( 1 ) Auto handicap and produce the Stk2000 .DOC data file automatically. Just click Auto.

( 2 ) Manually handicap and select the runline to use for each horse. Just click Next.

( 3 ) Using either the manual or the Auto method above you can produce a racing form in HTML format by clicking the HTML button so that it reads HTML ON instead of the default HTML Off. The resulting racing form will be named 1a.html

To automatically unzip and rename a whole batch
of freshly downloaded BRIS files use the Helpers
script DRFSTK.BAT shown in the drop-down file
list box below. Just click Helpers, then click DRFSTK.BAT
