How to change the importance of a variable.
-
On the Main Form click the command button above the column whose importance
you want to change.
-
The importance of that variable appears in the "Variable weight is now" text
box. Click Increase or Decrease to change the importance multiplier. The
larger the number the more important the variable to the final point score.
-
Check the profile name in the Save To Disk As text box and click the Save
To Disk As button if the name is what you want. If the name is not, click
on the box to give it focus and enter the name you want.
-
Remember: You must save the changed profile to make it take effect.
Each profile stands on its own
-
Each profile contains its own odds spread variable which is unique to the
variable weights of the profile.
-
Since Stk2000 calls a different profile for each race distance, each profile's
Odds-Spread variable must be set for its own odds accuracy.
-
The last step after a profile set has been optimized is to set the odds accuracy
of each profile in the set.
How to single a profile out of the set for adjustment
-
On the Profile Box click Short then in the small text box on the left set
the number to the shortest race distance to use for that profile.
-
Click the Long button and set the number to the longest race to consider.
-
Run the analysis, make the changes, and save each profile within the distances
under consideration.
|
How to force the odds to accurately reflect the horses chance of
winning
-
On the Main Form click Analysis; Complete List to run the analysis on the
files listed in FLIST.BAT.
-
Click the Race 1 button to hide the analysis text box.
-
Click the Odds button to bring up the Profile Box with the Odds Spread variable.
-
Click Test Accuracy. You should see an analysis of
the accuracy.
-
Notice the number in the Accum column of the analysis. The closer this number
to zero, the closer the odds.
-
If the numbers in the column tend toward the negative increase the Odds Spread
variable weight and repeat the test.
-
If the numbers in the column tend toward the positive decrease the Odds Spread
variable and repeat the test. Remember: You must save the changes at each
step for them to take effect.
-
When you have the best compromise between a positive and negative trend of
the numbers save the profile. It now accurately shows the odds based upon
your history of data files listed in FLIST,DAT.
How to lock a profile so that it doesn't change with distance.
-
Click Lock Profile on the Profile Box.
-
Do this before running an analysis on a particular profile to avoid reloading
another profile.
