Horse Race Simulator

Start the Horse Race Simulator by clicking the Game button on the Main Form.
How to Wager [ Home ]
  1. Click the Next Tick button until the Minutes To Post indicates 1 Minutes To Post so that the odds are almost final. The odds will change on each click of the Next Tick button, simulating wagering by the public.
  2. Click the Place a Bet button to bring up the betting form
  3. On the red betting form, Click a dollar amount.
  4. Click the wager type in the Bet row. 
  5. Select the horse or horses in the Horse row by clicking the select box below the horse number.
  6. Click the Record Ticket button on the red betting form.
  7. Click the Done button on the red betting form.

How to start the race
  1. Click the Next Tick button until Minutes To Post indicate zero.
  2. Alternatively, you can run the race at 10 times normal speed by clicking the Quick button in the center of the Horse Race Simulator form.

How to set up the Randomness factor

  1. The Randomness indicator is the small text box just above the Plus button.
  2. Click the Plus button to increase the amount of randomness that will be applied to the running speed of the horses
  3. Click the Real button to return the Randomness Factor to zero.

How to make a tip sheet from the Race Simulator Results [ Sample Tip Sheet ]

  1. Click Helpers; Dos Window to open a DOS window
  2. At the DOS prompt type DEL GAME.TXT and push Enter.
  3. Close the Dos Window by typing Exit or by clicking the little X in the upper right corner.
  4. From the Main form, open the race day file for the races you will use for the tip sheet.
  5. Run the Horse Race Simulator for each race. You can click the Quick button to run the races at 10 times normal speed.
  6. Click File; Edit on the Main form and in the file selection box of the Edit dialog form enter game.txt
  7. Click File; Save As on the Main form and in the file Save dialog form enter game.html
  8. You can Save As any name you want, but the html extension must be used so that Stk2000 will save it in html format. Otherwise it will be saved as plain text.

Easter Egg Frame: The easter egg allows you to specify which data columns are used for speed and the yard marker where the new speed takes effect.

How set up the Easter Egg

  1. Pull up the Easter Egg frame by clicking the mouse button in the small text box that shows the Randomness Factor.
  2. Use the Load button to load an existing Egg file.
  3. Use the Save button to save an Egg you have changed.
  4. Click Next on the Easter Egg form to increment through the yard markers
  5. Enter the column number to use for speed at each yard marker indicated

How to make a selection of Egg sets.

  1. Build an Egg by clicking Next on the Egg frame and change the yard and column numbers to suit your theory.
  2. Change the name of the Egg by entering it in the Text Box that has Egg in it. For example Egg1, Egg2, etc.
  3. Click Save to save the renamed Egg.

How to load a previously saved Egg

  1. Open the Egg frame by clicking the mouse when its pointer is inside the Randomness Text Box.
  2. In the small Text Box on the Egg frame enter the name of the egg you want.
  3. Click Load on the Egg frame.
  4. Click Accept to hide the Egg Frame

Long Shot Eggs: Use fewer columns in the Egg and the selections will usually be contenders that the general public and most touts will not consider.
