Click the Stk2000 icon on your desktop to run Stk2000 and get familiar
with the menu items and buttons
Go through the exercise below to get familiar with what the buttons do.
This page is just an exercise; use the detailed links
to explain each individual function.
-
Stk2000 uses drop-down menus for file manipulation and Command Buttons for
program execution.
-
Click File; Open then click on a race day from the file list to open
a race day file.
-
Click Profiles to see a list of profiles that the program uses for
each race distance. Profile V65 is used for 6.5 furlong races etc. Profile
selection is automatic for each distance. As you learn more, you can tweak
the profiles for maximum performance.
-
Click Analysis; Today to see a race by race analysis of the file that
is loaded. Click Analysis; Last 5 to see an analysis of the last five
days etc.
-
Click Game to pull up the Race Simulation form. From the Game Form
click Next Tick to tick off the minutes to the start of the race.
When the Next Tick reaches zero the horses will run the simulation at normal
speed. Alternatively, you can click Quick to run the simulation at
10 times normal speed.
-
Click Helpers; Dos Window to pull up a DOS window. Enter Stk99 at
the DOS prompt to run Stk99 in the DOS window. Alternatively you can click
Helpers; Stk99 to run Stk99 from Stk2000. Click Helpers; Help
for a drop down list of helper commands and a list of help files for
the helper's functions. The helper commands are on the left and the help
files are on the right. Click on day.hlp to open a help file for the
DAY.BAT helper, for example.
-
Click Racing Form to pull up the Racing Form Generator. On the Racing
Form Generator click File; Open to see a list of data files you can
use for handicapping a race. Click on a file from the list to open it. Click
Next to page through the horses PP data. Click Test for an
overview of the accumulating handicapped data. Click Auto to Auto-Handicap
the whole card. Click Ok when prompted to save the handicapped .DOC

-
To manually handicap a race day card using the Racing Form Generator,
use the Last, Next, and First buttons to page through the horses. Handicapping
produces the condensed data file used by Stk programs to select the top
contenders and calculate the odds.
-
Move the
mouse cursor down the page until it is in the horse data field to select
individual running lines. A small floating command button will follow the
mouse pointer and indicate the selected running line. The number on the button
indicates which running line is selected.
-
Click the left mouse button while the cursor is anywhere on the racing form
screen to freeze the floating button, then click Next to go to the
next horse.
-
The floating command button will automatically find the running line that
matches the criteria setup.
-

the Criteria Box click Next Criteria to step through the various criteria.
Click More or Less to change the criteria settings.
-

go to Full Screen view. Click Test to expand the data to full screen
and show more details. Click File; Print to print the expanded data.
Click File; Save As; then type in data.html

-
On the Main Form click File; Handicap to make a Tip Sheet. Click
File; Save As; then type tips.html to save
the tip sheet in html format. You may name the tipsheet anything you like
but you must use the .html extension to format the tipsheet in html. Otherwise
the tipsheet will be formatted in plain text.
-
Click File; Open and select an older file with results in it. Click
File Handicap to make a tip sheet of it. Click File; Save As;
then type tipsr.html to save the resulted tip
sheet in html format. Notice that the tip sheet without results shows the
Stk odds and Morning Line odds while the tip sheet with results shows
the Stk odds and the Off odds. You can, of course, name the tip sheets
any thing you wish. When you name them as .html, Stk2000 saves them in html
format.
